Cancellation of ODLAA Open Thinking Conference

Diane HockridgeUncategorised

The ODLAA Executive Committee wishes to notify its valued association members, registered attendees, and presenters, that the 2019 Conference “Open Thinking” has been cancelled.

It is with great sadness that the committee has made this decision due to circumstances outside of our control, but it was essential to address various factors that would have negatively impacted the conference had we proceeded at this time. We, and our partner event organisers, remain passionate in ensuring the delivery of an event that is valuable both professionally and personally, as well as enjoyable and rewarding, for the purposes of connecting our attendees with others who work within the field of online, open, and distance education.

The ODLAA Executive Committee intends to reschedule the conference with the expectation that it will remain hosted in Brisbane, Australia; however, at this time a date cannot be confirmed. When the event is officially rescheduled, any accepted abstracts from the current event will be honoured, and presenters will be contacted.

Current registered attendees will be contacted individually regarding reimbursements and refunds for any costs incurred. For enquiries relating to the conference please use our conference email:

AGM arrangements

As there now will not be an opportunity to hold a face-to-face AGM on February 4, the committee has voted to proceed with the AGM as an eAGM as per the 2018 eAGM.
